Notes:
- The 1935 census indicates that William was born circa 1866, but his death record indicates 1855. It is most likely that 1855 is the correct year as he would have been 29 when his first son was born in 1884.
- The 1935 census does say that William’s father was born in England, which corresponds with other known information. William, Charlotte and family were living in a 7-room house, valued at $200, which they owned. At the age of 69 [most likely 79], William was not actively employed but had earned $200 in the previous year. Mary Elvina, still single at 31, was living with her parents. Mary Elvina also had a 5-year-old daughter named Lenora.
- In the death record Pool’s Cove is written across two columns – place of birth and place of internment – making it look like William was born at Pool’s Cove, but that is not certain as no evidence indicates that his father, Kish, ever lived at Pool’s Cove.
- It appears that James, born 1887, probably died sometime between 1887 and 1891 since the next son was named Samuel James.

- According to their marriage record, Simeon was of the Congregational faith while Gladys was Church of England.
- In 1935 Simeon, Gladys and their seven children were living in the same house as his father. Simeon and his two older sons, Samuel and Randal, were engaged in the cod fishery. Simeon had earned $600 for the previous year; Samuel had earned $200; while 13-year-old Randal had earned $5 for himself.
- By 1945, Simeon's father was deceased but son Samuel had married and was now living in one part of the two-family house, probably the portion formerly occupied by William.

      Passed peacefully away at the James Paton Memorial Hospital in Gander on Saturday, April 3, 2010, Mrs. Sarah Caines (nee Rose), age 90 years of Pool’s Cove. Leaving to mourn her loving family: five sons, Malcolm (Odette Caines) and Kenneth (Emma) at Halifax, NS, Samuel (Anne) at Pasadena, Hibbert (Ellie) and Doug (Jennifer) at Pool’s Cove; three daughters, Gladys (Simeon Hardy) at Halifax, NS, June (Neil Williams) at Pool’s Cove and Margaret (Gerald Buffett) at Gander; twelve grandchildren and four great grandchildren; five brothers, Kenneth Rose and Enos Rose (Margaret) at Sydney, NS, Robert (Levina) at Halifax, NS, Alton at Sarnia, ON, and Thomas (Pat) at Halifax, NS; two sisters, Ada Crant at London, ON and Charity Pope (Thomas) at St. John’s; plus a number of other relatives and friends. Predeceased by her husband, Samuel; infant son, Baby Caines; sisters, Frances May and husband James, and Irene Hillier and Nauss; parents, Hibbert and Charity Rose.
      Funeral service will be held on Monday, April 5, 2010, at 2:00 pm from MacDermott United Church in Pool’s Cove with Rev. Larry Noseworthy officiating. Interment will follow at the United Church Cemetery at Pool’s Cove.

- Information from Rita Bambury Shore is that her father, Thomas Bambury, was shot and killed by his twin brother, Perry, in a hunting accident when she was about 11 years old. Thomas’s mother, Mary Ann, was referred to as Gaggie by her grandchildren. Rita lives in Nova Scotia.
- In 1945, Thomas and Elsie were living with his widowed mother, Mary Ann [Savoury] Bambury. Thomas and Elsie had three daughters at that time. Also living in the same house was Thomas’s twin brother, Parmenius ‘Perry’, and his wife Nellie. Nellie was the daughter of Emily [Caines] Mullins and granddaughter of Joseph Caines of Doctor’s Harbour.

      Passed peacefully away at the Connaigre Peninsula Health Care Centre in Harbour Breton on Friday, April 29, 2011, Mr. Randell Caines, age 89 years of Pool’s Cove. Leaving to mourn his loving family: wife, Lottie; sons, Simeon (Elsie) and Gordon (Marie) at Pool’s Cove, and Roland (Gloria) at Grand Bank; daughters, Patsy, residing with her Mom at Pool’s Cove, Sylvia (Leslie) at Mose Ambrose and Evelyn (Albert) at Pool’s Cove; thirteen grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren; brother, Freeman (Amy) at Pool’s Cove plus a large circle of family and friends. Predeceased by his loving daughter, Lucy, in 1983; brothers, Henry, Samuel and Ephraim; sisters, Elsie and Eeliah; and mother and father, Gladys and Simeon Caines. Funeral service was held on Sunday, May 1, 2011, at 3:00 pm from McDermott Memorial United Church in Pool’s Cove with Rev. Gary Adams officiating. Interment followed at the United Church Cemetery in Pool’s Cove. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the care of Spencer’s Funeral Home.

Two grandsons were also living with Albert in 1935: Wallace Savoury, age 8, born circa 1937; and Cyril Savoury, Junior, age 2, born circa 1943. The parents of these two grandchildren are unknown. Incidentally, Albert and Ruth’s youngest child, Sadie was listed as a ‘son’.
