Seven Words Of The Cross

Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. -Luke 23:34, KJV-

Father Forgive Them

As they drove cruel nails
In His hands and His feet
They scorned and they mocked Him too;
Great compassion He showed
In a voice ever sweet,
Saying, Father, forgive them
For they know not what they do.

CHORUS:
And He suffered in anguish
For me and for you
Crying, Father, forgive them
For they know not what they do."

And He wore on His head
Just a sharp crown of thorns
And blood flowed down o'er His brow;
While the soldiers cast lots
For the robe He had worn,
And they called to Him, "Jesus,
King of Jews, save yourself now."

CHORUS:

In the cross there is peace
Waiting for you and me
And we can have life anew;
Jesus paid for our sins
There on Calvary's tree,
He said, "Father, forgive them
For they know not what they do."

CHORUS:
