The Face In The Window

The face in the window
On the second floor
Looks out across the park
Where the children run
And laugh and play
As happy as a lark;

Now a look of sorrow
Fills a lonely face
As they wave from below
If he could, only once
Join them in their games
But it can not be so;

The park is quiet now
The children all are sad
On this unhappy day
For the face in the window
On the second floor
Will no more watch them play.
