Wiggly Worm

This is Wiggly Worm. He is long and round and kind of a dark pink colour.
Do you know why he is called Wiggly? It's because he wiggles.
Wiggly has no legs. He can't walk or run or jump like you.
He can't hop like a bunny. He can't even waddle like a duck.
Wiggly just wiggles. He twists and turns from side to side.
First one way and then the other.
Wiggly Worm just wiggles and squiggles and wiggles.
All day. Every day. Just wiggle, wiggle, wiggle.

Wiggly has no tongue. He can't talk, or sing, or shout like you can.
He can't bark like a dog. He can't quack like a duck.
Wiggly just wiggles. He twists and turns this way and that way.
He never makes a sound.
Wiggly Worm just wiggles and squiggles and wiggles.
All day. Every day. Just wiggle, wiggle, wiggle.

Wiggly is long and thin like a piece of string.
He doesn't wear clothes to keep him warm like you do.
He doesn't have fur like a bunny. He doesn't have feathers like a duck.
Wiggly just wiggles. He twists and turns through the soft, deep earth.
He doesn't need clothes doesn't there.
Wiggly Worm just wiggles and squiggles and wiggles.
All day. Every day. Just wiggle, wiggle, wiggle.

Wiggly can't play games. He can't go to the playground like you can.
He can't chase his tail like a dog. He can't swim in circles like a duck.
Wiggly just wiggles. He just squirms along and never has any fun.
Wiggly Worm just wiggles and squiggles and wiggles.
All day. Every day. Just wiggle, wiggle, wiggle.

BUT... Wiggly is very special. He does something very important.
Plants love Wiggly. He is their best friend.
All his wriggling through the earth keeps the dirt soft and loose.
That makes it easy for tiny roots to grow and spread out.
Then the plants can grow too.
Wiggly just wiggles. He keeps wiggling because it is all he can do.
Wiggly Worm just wiggles and squiggles and wiggles.
All day. Every day. Just wiggle, wiggle, wiggle.
