Thomas was listed as an Ag. Lab. [Agricultural Labourer] from the age of 40 up to 65. In the 1861 census he was listed as a widower.
At time of 1851 Census, Elizabeth was living at Hindon, separately from other family members; her name was recorded as Cains. At the age of 21 she was apparently employed as a house Servant by Charles Millett at Chicklade.
At 28 Caroline was listed as an unmarried, former housemaid. At 48 she was the head of the household, unmarried, with no occupation. Then at 58 she was single and living on her own means.
At the age of 14, William was working as an Agricultural Labourer. He died of Diabetes and exhaustion, recorded as being a house and ship painter.
Thomas appears to have had few descendants – unless he had other children that have not yet been discovered. No record has been found for the marriage of his daughters and son David died as an infant. Apparently William was the only one who married.)
