Note:
- James and Sarah were both listed as being widowed on their marriage record, but no earlier marriage for James has been found. It is not certain if the entry may have been an error.
- Sarah Spencer first married Thomas McDonald, fisherman of Furby’s Cove; on 19 September 1881, at Hermitage, when she was just 17 years old. Her place of residence at that time was Round Cove.
- In 1921 only Harry remained at home with his parents.

Notes:
- The marriage record gives Minnie B.’s age as 16 and Robert’s as 22. Both parties were listed as residents of Little Bay at the time of their marriage in 1907.
- The 1921 census has Minnie at 31, born July 1880 at Little Bay, which is obviously an error.
- Minnie’s parents married 03 September 1880, at Pass Island. Jesse Fudge, 26-year-old bachelor, was a fisherman at Indian Cove and Elizabeth Engram, age 22, was a spinster of Pass Island. They were married by George H. Bishop, with witnesses: William Langdon and Rebecca Morris.
- In 1945 Robert, age 60, and Minnie, age 56, were still living at Little Bay. Living with them was Gordon Engram, age 19, listed as their grandson.

- Myrtle appears to have married Reginald Strickland and had son Howard in 1945. In the 1945 census an aunt, Mary Kendell, was living with Myrtle’s family but it is not known if she was Myrtle’s or Reginald’s aunt.

- According to the census of 1945, two of Sarah Susannah’s brothers appear to have been living with her and her husband: James, age 48, and his wife Elizabeth, age 56; and another brother, age 45. The younger brother may have Harry, unless there was a younger one not yet found.
