Ever Elvis

Ever Elvis

Comeback of the King

One cold December night
In nineteen sixty-eight
I turned the TV on
And I could hardly wait

For this would be the night
When Elvis I would see
And words can not describe
Just what it meant to me

It had been far too long
Since hed done a live show
Tonight hed show the world
What the fans already know

He stepped out on the stage
In a leather suit of black
And proved to all the world
The King of rock was back

He sang and joked and laughed
And flashed a tender smile
With every move he made
The audience went wild

I felt a sense of pride
For I was witnessing
Without the slightest doubt
The Comeback of the King!
