From the fiftieth state of the U.S.A.
Coming ‘live via satellite,’
The Aloha show was reaching out
To many countries that night.
To the musical theme ‘Two Thousand and One,’
Onto the stage Elvis came,
The cheers went up as he burst into song
And everyone called his name.
A growing flame of excitement and joy
Threatened to consume each heart,
The look of pleasure on each face showed
They were with him from the start.
And he was resplendent in his white jumpsuit,
Deserving to be called the King,
The magic of his presence alone,
Such happiness could bring.
And he sang and teased in his usual style,
Giving scarves out as souvenirs,
Even those watching on TV
Somehow felt he was near.
And the love that flowed through the air that night
Between Elvis and his loyal fans
Has not, and never will be matched
By another mortal man.
